Summary
ITRC
conducted a multi-year study on evaporation throughout the
state of California. The stated intent of this
research was to consolidate existing information on
evaporation through literature reviews and interviews, and
to compute evaporation amounts for representative
conditions in California and use those amounts to
extrapolate information for the complete irrigation
agricultural area of California. This research was
to address the question of the approximate magnitude of
evaporation - a key piece of knowledge when defining the
level of resources that should be committed to solving any
problem.
